By Common Consent has a new look, and not really much else.
The new "grassy meadows" theme is a perfect symbol for the new BCC. It draws deeply on literary archetypes that I love. For me, it evokes one spring time woodland in particular, summed up in the singular phrase: "But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also."
My personal approach to the new BCC is represented beautifully by Walt Whitman's poem:
Leaves of Grass
I CELEBRATE myself,
And what I assume you shall assume,
For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you.
I loafe and invite my soul,
I lean and loafe at my ease....observing a spear of summer grass.
Houses and rooms are full of perfumes....the shelves are crowded with perfumes,
I breathe the fragrance myself, and know it and like it,
The distillation would intoxicate me also, but I shall not let it.
The atmosphere is not a perfume....it has no taste of the distillation....it is odorless,
It is for my mouth forever....I am in love with it,
I will go to the bank by the wood and become undisguised and naked,
I am mad for it to be in contact with me.

I was thinking "Springtime for Hitler", but that works.
This show a blatant disregard of our fellow saints in the southern hemisphere. Seasonal themes such as these just reflect the dominance of Utah culture over the international church. So sad...
My favorite line in that poem goes sort of like: "death is different from what people suppose...and luckier."
Those are certainly some manly looking men.
Perhaps a better choice of Whitman's poetry would have been As I Lay with My Head in Your Lap, Camerado.
Shutting down all comments because DKL & SKL are just acting like a couple of trolls, cross posting deleted crap into unrelated threads. Thanks, Mr. & Mrs. Troll for showing us all what you two are really made out of. Will reopen in the morning.
I can't find the post where I called you guys a bad name. I don't even know who you are, you could be my friend.
This is not my business, my problem, my job, or my responsibility, plus I don't use my real name either, so who am I to talk? I'm a hypocrite.
I apologize, but I don't like fighting among people I consider friends. I wish we would love each other.
