Why start at the bottom like everyone else, when you can promote yourself to box number one on your own index site? That is precisely what any self-respecting narcissist would do, and that is what endears me to DKL. His unapologetic willingness to put himself first, where he belongs, is a sterling example to all of us. Why feign humility when it is just an act of deception? Nope, when you are number one, you may as well shout it from the roof tops. Nice work, DKL, and all you others as well. Especially great kudos on that original and innovative blog design, it is almost as beautiful as you, but nowhere near as beautiful as me.

I suggest logging in, voting it down if you so choose, and encouraging others to do the same. You could probably bury it in Box 4 if all your readership got behind the effort.

Yep,

Being in Blogs One by default, after one day, kind of proves that DKL is just as much of a self-aggrandizer as those he accuses of the same. Nothing wrong with that. We all do it. But DKL is supposed to be more righteous than the rest of us.

It is ALWAYS about me, me, me. Let's stop pretending it isn't.

Looks good. I'm glad some of these guys found a group blog home. As for LDSelect/MoMental/Blogs One: yeah, well, fair enough. The MA do it.

/waving a big foam finger/

We're number one! We're number one!

a random John,

That assumes DKL would actually pay attention to the user's votes, as the demotion/promotion between boxes is not automatic.

If DKL put his blog in box 1 by default, that is where it is staying. His response would be "Create an account and move it into whatever box you like".

You needn't register or login to promote or demote a blog on LDSelect. You can move any blog to any location whether you register or not. They can even hide it.

So DKL has put his own blog in the top LDSelect category, while the MA forces some if its blogs to display the MA logo in order to maintain their level. MA is also very selective about the blogs that it adds, assuming the role of "content shepherd," to protect the bloggernacle from itself. Please explain how DKL's actions are morally equivalent to the MA's paternalistic bullying.

Since when was DKL's beef with MA related whether the MA put their own blogs at the top? Never. Rewriting history by claiming otherwise is a vain grasp at false vindication to assuage the guilty conscience.

DKL specifically said that LDSelect was about 2 things: not extorting promotion from other blogs, and not acting as the Big Brother of the bloggernacle and putting LDSelect users in control of their own content. That's enough to make him more righteous than MA alone. Proof that DKL hit close to home with these aims can be seen in the need felt by the MA and its partisans to claim their false vindication now after 9 months. You won't escape the sting that easily.

What does it matter if he puts his own blog at the top of the list. Have you seen the list of perma-bloggers? It belongs there, if you ask me.

Hi, DKL.

This whole thing of identifying anyone who disagrees with a snark as the person to whom the snark is intended is a little tired. And no, I am not DKL. Or his wife. Or anyone else. I'm a real nowhere man.

Kurt said... @ October 4, 2006 at 6:44 PM

Nowhere man, please listen, you don't know what you're missin. Nowhere Man, the world is at your command. Or not.

If you really are all that tired of people trying to guess who you are, then stop posting anonymously. Oh, I guess you really arent all that tired after all, oh vindicator of the justifiably reviled.

Anyone who would bad mouth the Moarch while trying to polish a turd is a just a zero. So, the self selected appelation is fitting. Thanks for saving us the trouble.

Actually, the habit of identifying any anonymous post as DKLs is pretty common (and funny sometimes, as DKL is obviously not doing all the anonymous posts).

On the other hand, what the heck. Adding yourself to group one is less intrusive than creating a group one just for yourself.

As for the snark, I'm glad of it -- it means I didn't miss a new blog I might of skipped and that I was glad to see.

I actually like the new blog, MM. But I get a little miffed by seeing it appear on LDSelect. I and several others who have tried to be added have had our email bounced back. I've tried several times in the last 3 months. I figured maybe they weren't adding anyone new. Now this.

boredinvernal, e-mail me.gardnera@netutah.com

David has three e-mail addresses and sometimes his mail gets lost. He wouldn't purposely ignore you.

Are you on MA?

Anonymous said... @ October 6, 2006 at 8:00 AM

The e-mail address DKL uses regularly is dlandrith at mac dot com

HP said... @ October 7, 2006 at 3:41 PM

As a rule, it is a bad idea to publicly post other people's email addresses online. It's rude.

Anonymous said... @ October 8, 2006 at 5:35 AM

"If you really are all that tired...." Please read more carefully. I said nothing about being tired myself. Now I'm off to my bustling turd polishing business.

Anonymous said... @ October 8, 2006 at 3:35 PM

HP, dkl regularly spreads that one around. So step off.

HP said... @ October 9, 2006 at 6:11 AM

Anonymous email poster,
It's DKL's email. He can spread it however he likes. This doesn't lessen the fact that posting it publicly without his say-so is rude.
