Naiah is a self-styled feminist who thinks polygamy could be a good thing as long as its done right. She says:
- A loving, healthy household of sister-wives functioning together in life...cooperating, supporting each other, sharing life’s joys and struggles as sisters should sounds like a fantastic, stable, and empowering way to live.
Oh, oh, wait a minute. Naiah isn't talking about plural marriage, she is talking about beer. Now it all makes sense! She wants the Relief Society to get together in bonds of sisterhood by having weekly happy hours. That's how they are cooperating, supporting each other, sharing life’s joys and struggles, at RS happy hour. Cutting loose and tossing a few back. Phew. Wow, I was confused there for a second. I mean, polygiofeminist? Huh? Whuh?
P.S., Naiah, hun, you don't have to respond to every single comment in the thread. You are allowed to make generalized statements that address broad topics and sort out only the specific details that are worthy of direct notice.

No, Naiah has to answer every commenter so she can beat the numbers on the Sex Talk thread! Go Naiah!
Shucks, I'd hate to see that thread one-upped ...

I am hardly a "my way or the highway" kind of wife, to say the least.
As for your p.s. I'm just trying to be nice, and respond to each person. I figured, being my first time on there, it'd be nice to do. On my site I reply to everyone (some in email, some in comments, but I always reply). I think it's just basic respect. They're taking time and energy to share their thoughts (which enrich my own)on a topic I brought up, and the least I can do is acknowledge them in kind.
Sure it's turned out to be a much bigger job than I anticipated (FMH has a *few* more readers than Naiahdot), and I won't be able to do it on every entry I do on there, but I thought it would be a nice gesture.
I have taken so much flak for this that I'm beginning to think I ought to cast my kindness elsewhere.
FWIW: Naiah was up past midnight, responding to posts, not because she was trying to beat some numbers, but because she wanted to try to leave personal responses to people, let them know they were heard, &c.
You may want to think & pray a little more before posting. "Snarking" for fun and to the delight of everyone involved is fine, but it's pretty easy to walk over the line and be a little cruel just to get in a clever word. You crossed that line this time.
)Rob (Naiah's husband.)
Rob, I thought it was rather tame.
I actually thought the attempt to give everyone a response was rather cute and as long as she can keep it up, more power to her. People generally like to get a response to their comments, and it's nice of her to try and respond on her inagural post.
I'm sorry she sees it as flak that she's taking for being nice. I thought Kaimi was just engaging in good natured ribbing. Same with this post. At least on the responding-to-all issue anyway ...
Personally, I thought she got hammered harder on the Joseph Smith martyrdom idea. But that's just me.

Naiah, if you are reading this, I was just being silly! I didn't mean to imply you were trying to beat any numbers or up your numbers count. I think answering commenters is super nice and thoughtful. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings! :-(
Rob,
Naiah asked to be snarked on her first post after entering the Nacle, so step off. I am glad you are a supportive and protective husband, but you are over the top here. A post that spoofs a perceived benefit of polygyny, and then turns the corner to spoof beer drinking is "[over] that line"? Give it a rest. How much more non-serious and unhurtful could we be? You want us to shower her with e-hugs instead?
As for being cruel, Naiah and I entered into a private correspondence on what was to be my first snark of her and based upon that discussion we decided not to snark her. We are sensitive to people's reactions and try not to harm people's feelings. We never attack people's deeply held religious beliefs or personal convictions. We make up blatantly silly stuff and spoof people. How is that cruel? And giving her advice suggesting she not have to respond to every single comment individually? Thats being helpful, Rob. Plain, old fashioned neighborly kindness.
Forgive my knight in shinig armor. He was working late (joys of Microsoft), and got a phonecall with me in tears. I am actually taking some serious flak, but not on here. This was just the cherry on the sundae, so to speak. (Some people really suck, and we'll just leave it at that.) He heard me crying over the phone (as a result of all of it together--comments, private emails...), and when I said "*bawling and sobbing* and I got snarked, too--TWICE!!!" I really started sobbing, and it got his hackles up.
It's good to know he's got my back at least.
Btw, you go back far enough in the Naiahdot archives (pre-return to church), and you'll hit some good beer entries. So, your snark was more on target than I think you could have known. (unless you like *really* did your homework--like to a vaguely disturbing degree...)
And, true to my word, having now been snarked, I truly feel like a real part of the bloggernacle.
Oh, and thanks meems--really. I started posting the reponses in batches. I didn't want any idea of number whoring to taint the sincerity of my responses.
