The Millennial Black Hole was acknowledge as existing by the SL Trib, and now Geoff B thinks the SL Trib "discusses M* at length re: the recent public affairs interview". No, Geoff, it doesn't. What it does do is quote from the comments appearing on M* at length, which have pretty much nothing at all to do with M* and those people whom they quoted from typically don't even comment there either. Being first to the table with a currents events topic hardly qualifies the Black Hole for anything other than quick on the draw. And, never mind that the number of comments posted in the two posts on the Public Affairs Interviews exceeded the number of comments on all other posts on the entire blog for the past 12 months. In other words, it was an anomoly.

Naturally, a petty squabble breaks out between the BCCers, who are also mentioned in the SL Trib article, and the BlackHolers. Nothing surprising there. The most amusing thing is Steve EM, with his finger on the one piano key he always plays ad nauseum, bad mouths BCC and endorses the Black Hole as the most open, liberal minded and best big blog. Now there is an endorsement M* should list in their sidebar:

BEST BIG BLOG,
endorsed by Mitt Romney, FAIR, spammers, and Steve EM.

M* rocks because they are the only big blog that has not banned me yet!

Is that really a picture of Steve EM? What is he doing, advocating self-administered prostate exams?

"The Millennial Black Hole was acknowledge as existing by the SL Trib."

Now if only the Snarker would be acknowledged by anyone, anything, any blog as actually existing . . . what possibilities might there be?

anon #1, very funny, and very target appropriate.

anon #2, you, all permabores, and everyone who vehemently denies reading us read us. What greater validation do we need?

Add some height and a larger frame, and it's actually a pretty good likeness circa 1990. Now, I'm pretty sure Kurt figured out who I am some time ago, and I thank you guys for not outing me to the Strengthening the Members Commitee.

Image aside, M* is more tolerant of straight talk than T&S and BCC. Take it to the bank.

Steve EM, there is a big difference between acceptance of straight talk and an absentee admin. Your comments, like the rest of the spam at M*, just take more time to get deleted there than at other blogs.

Anon #6,
a fraction of my stuff gets deleted at M*, as it does here. They're ceratinly on they're toes. I have no issues with a blog editing/deleting comments as they see fit. Moreover, if a blog wants to ban people forever and without warning like T&S does, it's their blog. M* has never banned me. My Beef w/ BCC is they self promoted as liberal free thinkers, have good challenging posts, but only orthodox comments are welcome and they ban without warning. One of the BCCers was kind enough to e-mail and explain I was "temporarily" banned for the thought crime of comparing some GAs (unnamed) to W as both asleep at the switch. But that was months ago, and I beleive I'm still banned there. Free thinkers my ___! They're just a bunch of orthodox T&S mama's boys pretending to be something else.

Let's review the record: Steve EM makes his crack about Bush and church leadership on May 24.

Six days later, he makes this comment on BCC.

In July, he comments on a paper by D. Michael Quinn here.

On August 18, he complains on BCC about having been banned.

So anon BCCer, you guys take some of my occasional test comments I submit to test my "temporary" ban out of some moderation holding pen after the fact to refute my charge that you have no tolerance of free thinking Mormons? M*'s scoup really did get under your skin. Why does this remind me of Prudence Brown?

I'll stop by soon to see if I'm really unbanned.

Careful there, Steve EM. You're edging into Steven Jones territory now.
