...like our Viking Forebears.
The Editrix at the new faithful grrrly blog is irritated that people are saying Mormons are fatter than their Gentile neighbors. So, naturally, she comes up with alternatives explanations as to why we weigh more, which explanations are supported by no evidence whatsoever, aside from a GenConf quote which notes Mormons are less obsessed with body image (which would explain why it is so hard to find a plastic surgeon in Utah) than our Gentile neighbors, who are all bulemic coke whores.
OK, well, if all the Gentile neighbors are a bunch of vain, self-absorbed, image conscious, anorexic crack heads, then they wouldn't be caught dead in Golden Corral, Chuck-A-Rama and the 5 Buck Pizza Buffet. So who is it that is keeping them in bizness?

My viking ancestry causes me to pillage the buffet tables at Upchuck-A-Rama on a weekly basis.
And don't forget Snelgrove's, and Leatherby's ice cream restaurants, whose website claims to have the BIGGEST sundaes you wil ever eat. There is a line outside the door on the Saturday evening before fast Sunday.
well the most obvious reason why we are fatter than everyone else is because we get to have perfect bodies in the next life! so why work so hard to have them here?
i'm actually a little surprised that this took so long to hit the bloggernacle. even yahoo! news had the study results about a month ago. are we just too ashamed to admit that it is true?
http://users.wolfcrews.com/toys/vikings/ -- that was a favorite with friends of mine. An oldie, but goodie.
BTW, not all of us are getting larger:

Let's face it, being barred from everything else we have only food to be addicted to. We don't get together for a beer, we get together for dessert platters and potlucks. All the other addictions help you get skinnier, like crack, cigarettes, & liquor (barfing is losing weight right?).
Man, why do we get the crappy addiction? More opression of the Mo's if you ask me...
