Oh, no, not again. Yes, let us all once again rehash whether or not Mormons are Christians. Ugh. Over at BCC, they talk some about who owns the definition, which gets to the core of the controversy. But, like a blind batter wildly swinging at anything coming across the plate, they continue to miss the obvious definition. But, hey, why bother to check in with Jesus on something like this? Not like he would have anything to say on the matter.

As Mormons, we'd much rather quote a prophet, apostle, Missin president's third cousin in the temple, etc. than we would Jesus Christ himself. We would also much rather read a book ABOUT the scriptures that the scriptures THEMSELVES.
And the disciples were called Christians ...
Why call ye me Lord, Lord ...
Problem is, christian means something a bit more today than what Jesus originally meant.
it appears the might snarkers have missed the whole point of my post. i wasn't trying to define it (over on fmh), i wanted to know why we don't say we are Christian, since we do in fact follow Christ. however, in true bloggernacle style, it was threadjacked into what the word meant, instead of why we are so afraid to call ourselves by that word.
