Blake Ostler, patron saint of speculators, has ignored requests to link guest posts at NCT to his web page. Kiss someone's butt and then get slapped in the face for it? Ouch. Something tells me Blake will not be guest posting at NCT anymore. Hmmm, now why wouldn't Blake want to be associated with NCT? Anyone?

UPDATE: Since rejecting NCT requests to link his own posts there at NCT, Blake has again posted at NCT. Make sense? Only if you are running a blog with so little clout that you will gladly sell your own soul and eat humble pie day and night in exchange for the tiniest bit of credibility that might transfer through osmosis. NCT permabores anonymously LOLing at Blake's posting are only nervously trying to hide the facts. LOL all you like, you are still rejects. Shame on me, Snarkimus Prime, for assuming Geoff would have enough spine to stand up to Blake's obvious affront. Never again will that mistake be made, oh Jelly Fish of the MoArchipelago.

Would you?

Ooh, bad timing on your snark. Ostler just posted over there today.

Lol! Priceless timing!

LOL? Geoff continues to allow Blake to post there even though Blake refuses to link to it? Continue to kiss the butt of the guy that slaps you in the face? That isn't LOL, that is stupid.

Kurtimus Prime,

That wasn't Geoff Loling that was me.

Better luck next time on your timing!

Hey Kurt,

Sorry your snark fell flat. You win some; you lose some.

Anyway, I really don't care that Blake is not linking to his various guest posts on his new Web page (I know he has guest posted at the Thang and T&S at least). Is there a reason I should care?

Also, is there some reason you care? (Perhaps you see "obvious affronts" at every turn in life but I just don't see one in this case at all...)

Kristen,

In case you haven't noticed, Ostler still hasn't linked to NCT. But, natch, you focus on the miss, not the hit.

Geoff,

In case you haven't noticed, Ostler has linked to everything he has posted on the Internet except for his posts at NCT. Now, Geoff, why do you think that is? Why would Ostler not link to NCT? Figure it out, smart guy. You don't care? Right. Just like you don't care about LDSelect taking market share away from MoArch.

Kurt, you are usually better at doing research than this.

The one blog _comment_ Blake's site currently links to is a response to one of his published articles.

His site does not link to any guest blog posts he has put up. Not the ones at NCT and no the ones at T&S. I fail to see why I should be offended at all. Unless you think that Blake ought to link to every _comment_ he has ever made on any blog I think you don't have any legs to snark on with this one.

One would have to be walking around with a major chip his shoulder to find any of this stuff offensive...

Geoff,

For someone who allegedly doesn't care, you sure are pursuing this and defending your blog's lack of being linked pretty hard.

Congratulations on being on par with T&S as far as not being linked. That should make you feel like your blog is at least as uncrappy at T&S, right? But, then, T&S didn't ask him to link to them, did they? No. OK. And his web master didn't publicly ask him if he wanted him to link to T&S and then he ignored the request (at least publicly anyway).

Really, Geoff, it is no skin off my nose if Ostler links to mormonmatters.org, mormonstories.org, sunstoneonline.com, fairlds.org, aliveonline.com and all the rest, and not your blog. Hey, whatever. You don't care, right? Guess what, me neither. If Ostler doesn't want your blog linked on his web page, hey, that is fine by me. And since you don't care, then what are we arguing about?

I guess you really got this one wrong since not only has Blake posted at NCT again, he is now linking there from his site?

Blake said... @ September 26, 2007 at 3:53 PM

I admit I have no idea why you think that not putting links on my own website to NCT was somehow an affront. I just wondered if I ought only to post to peer reviewed articles. I decided to post to them after all. But admit I am mystified why this is a big deal. Any real reason?

Snarkimus Prime said... @ September 27, 2007 at 8:55 AM

Oh, hey, look at that, 15 days later an "anonymous" comes back to point out I really was wrong after all. Wow, I wonder which NCT permadolt it was?

Blake, you linked everything else in the entire internet that had to do with you, except NCT, not just peer reviewed stuff. So, why is it after a couple of weeks you decided to go ahead and add the link? What change in mind occurred that necessitated a decision? It never even occurred to you? How so, when Jacob explicitly made the request which you ignored? Please do tell, Blake. I am sure Geoff wants to know, even though he allegedly doesn't care.

Just want to go on record. I didn't take offense originally, and even if Blake removes all the links to NCT tomorrow I will not be offended in the slightest.

Kent, the web administrator for blakeostler.com says, "This page is now linked to blakeostler.com, so there you go Jacob, you’re going to be famous!"

Of course you don't take offense, Jacob. It wouldn't mix well with the brown-nosing. But, the real question is, "Will Jacob have his fair share of access to Blake's posterior with Eric Nielson spending so much time there?" Only time will tell, as Jacob and Eric duke it out for prime access.
